Play

The BCGA, through its Player and Program Development division, has structured itself to address both high performance programs and recreational golf programs. Although interrelated, they are clearly two separate streams of development. The structure of this division is to focus on both streams.

The BCGA continues to advance the Player and Program development division looking beyond just the technical facets of the game and into areas that will improve the player as a “complete package”. This includes areas such as strength and conditioning for golf, nutrition, mental management, biomechanics, planning and periodization to name just a few of the additions to our programs.

Recreational Programs

The BCGA recognizes the importance of grassroots programming to grow the game of golf. By developing and expanding recreational programs for men, women, juniors and the disabled, the BCGA will work towards eliminating the barriers that prevent greater participation in the game of golf.

The BCGA has also invested its time and resources into the development of female specific recreational programming to address this demographic of our golfing population and has plans to expand this out to other demographics in the near future.

High Performance Programs

In an effort to stay ahead of the curve with respect to how our best amateur players are “stacking up” against world class competition, the BCGA is working to improve the overall playing performance of competitive golfers in British Columbia– whether they play at the amateur, mid-amateur or senior level.
