PLAYER DEVELOPMENT TRUST FUND MANDATE
The Player Development Trust Fund (PDTF) is the charitable arm of golf in British Columbia. Established under the umbrella of the British Columbia Junior Golf Association, the PDTF is a registered charity under the National Sport Trust Fund. Corporations and individuals making donations receive receipts for tax purposes. The BC Golf Association covers all management and administration costs. The Mandate of the Fund is to ensure that all talented young golfers have the opportunity to develop their skills to the best of their ability regardless of their financial circumstance.
The PDTF implements its program by supporting young players in the following ways:
1. Providing a contribution toward helping with entry fees travel, accommodation, and other associated expenses for young amateur golfers in need of financial support to attend BCGA sanctioned tournaments.
2. Assists in costs of individual coaching and supports the Association coaching programs.
3. Offers bursaries/scholarships for graduating amateur golfers, to further their education.
The PDTF relies heavily on funding coming from golf clubs who hold fundraisers, individual and sometimes corporate supporters. All PDTF Directors are volunteers so that 100% of donations are available to meet the needs of junior and graduating junior golfers.
