Athlete Development
The BCGA High Performance Training program has been in existence since 2004 and is offered each year to qualified applicants.
The goal of the program is to improve the overall playing performance of competitive golfers in British Columbia– whether they play at the amateur, mid-amateur or senior level. The program focuses on providing training in the following areas:
- Fitness
- Goal Setting
- Rules of Golf
- Short Game
- Course Management
- Practicing with a Purpose
- Tournament Preparation
- Mental Strategies
- Equipment Analysis
To be eligible for this program, player must:
- Be a member in good standing of the BC Golf Association
- Resident of BC
- History of competitive golf, with priority given to competitive golfers in BCGA championships
- Committed to competitive golf for one year
- Handicap Index of 12.0 or less
